This class uses TeenFEMM, a fertility appreciation program, to celebrate how wonderfully God has created the human person, body, mind, and soul. Young ladies will discover their natural fertility cycle and learn to respect and revere this incredible gift. By gaining a deeper understanding of their bodies, participants will be empowered to value, protect, and honor their God-given gift of fertility.
teenFEMM is a knowledge-based health program for pre-teens and teens. The
woman's fertility cycle is an indicator of her overall health. teenFEMM classes,
can help your daughter make the best choices for life. teenFEEMM teaches them not only to
understand and monitor hormonal and other indicators of their physical health but also to take care of their mental and spiritual health.
Understanding how their bodies work and recognizing signs of normal or abnormal hormonal activity enable the identification of common health problems, such as
heavy bleeding, irregular bleeding, pain, and depression. Without knowledge
about the hormonal interplay of her cycle, the ability of an adolescent and her
family to make informed health decisions is hindered. Unfortunately, evidence
shows that most women do not understand how their own bodies work. They lack of
health literacy, or an awareness of the behaviors that affect their general and
reproductive health over the course of their lives, such as adequate nutrition,
exercise, and sleep. Women often experience shame and stigma surrounding
menstruation, which also leads to poorer health outcomes.
This startling reality
evidence the need for the education provided by
teenFEMM. A young woman
equipped with the knowledge to understand her body is empowered to make the best
health care decisions for herself.
In the case of health problems such as pain, PMS, acne, or mood swings, we can
refer your daughter to
FEMM medical professionals who can provide more accurate testing,
diagnosis, and treatment by working with biological indicators provided by the
patient’s own observations.
teenFEMM helps young women to understand the options
relevant to their desired long-term health outcomes. The knowledge gained through
teenFEMM can allow adolescents, their families, and their doctors to identify
underlying health concerns and treat them as soon as possible.
